John E. McOsker has been a litigator and legal advisor, primarily in the healthcare, manufacturing, retail, and aviation industries since 1993.  Throughout his career he has served in various roles for the firms with which he was affiliated including managing partner, litigation group chair, and management advisory board.

Upon graduation from law school and admission to the bar in 1993, Mr. McOsker’s practice initially focused on business litigation in the healthcare, retail, manufacturing, insurance, and aviation industries.  Specifically, Mr. McOsker has defended lawsuits in the areas of partnership dispute, directors and officers/fiduciary duty, corporate negligence, insurance coverage, insurance bad faith, and accounting fraud, among others.  Mr. McOsker has defended companies in various forms of administrative hearings, investigations, and adversarial proceedings, including the Federal Aviation Administration, the Small Business Administration, the United States Department of Labor, the National Labor Relations Board, the California Attorney General, and the Equal Employment Opportunities Commission, as well as in state and federal court.  In addition, Mr. McOsker expanded his practice to include advising with regard to business operations and regulatory compliance.  Mr. McOsker continues to advise companies in a wide range of industries as to their business operations as well as defending complex business litigation.

Mr. McOsker’s entire legal career has been spent in and around Los Angeles and he has volunteered his time and expertise to the local community.  He was appointed by Mayor James K. Hahn to serve on the Harbor Area Planning Commission and did so from 2001-2006.  He served as the Commission’s President from 2002-2006.  In addition to his service on the Area Planning Commission, he was appointed to membership on the Port Community Advisory Committee in 2001.  He has volunteered as a member of the Board of Managers of the San Pedro Peninsula YMCA since 2005 and has been a legal volunteer for the St. Lawrence Brindisi/Watts Youth Center since 1995.
