Katy Suttorp has represented and counseled a wide range of employers, including private entities, municipalities, school districts, community college districts, and special districts in numerous matters.  These include employee discipline and due process, wrongful termination, workplace investigations, disability accommodation and interactive process, leaves and benefits, employee speech and privacy, HIPAA, wage and hour audits and disputes, CalPERS audits and disputes.  Other examples are labor negotiations and disputes, and administrative complaints, including PERB, DLSE, and EEOC, workplace violence, pre-employment issues, including drug and alcohol testing, as well as a variety of student issues, including special education, and accreditation disputes.  Ms. Suttorp has also drafted and revised a variety of personnel rules and policies, memoranda of understanding, and employer-employee resolutions.

During law school, Ms. Suttorp clerked at the U.C. Davis office of the Campus Counsel and served as a summer extern for the Honorable Gary A. Feess, a judge of the United States District Court for the Central District of California.  She also served as editor-in-chief of the environmental law and policy journal, Environs.  Ms. Suttorp recently completed a two-year appointment to the Program Review Committee for the American Inns of Court.
