Ralph Hanson's professional experience includes over twenty-nine years devoted to the representation of municipalities, redevelopment agencies, and special districts in Southern California.
Mr. Hanson's representation of public agencies includes service as City Attorney for Stanton 2002-2011, Assistant City Attorney: Diamond Bar, 1989-1992; Irwindale, 1992-1996, and Deputy City Attorney and Redevelopment Agency Counsel: Brea, 1981-1997; Buena Park, 1983-1997; Hesperia, 1988-1997; La Mirada, 1981-1997; Rancho Cucamonga, 1985-1997; and Upland, 1994-1997.
Mr. Hanson's municipal law practice has extended through all legal disciplines pertinent to the public sector including counseling elected officials and staff, both in public meetings and in confidence, on administrative and legislative matters, planning, zoning and environmental issues, taxation and rate (fee) setting, public works and professional services contracting, franchises, police power and constitutional issues, municipal organization, including incorporations, mergers and annexations, as well as all aspects of election matters.
Mr. Hanson's litigation experience includes California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) compliance actions, land use and development mandate actions, personal injury defense and election matters, including contested initiatives, referenda, and recalls.
Mr. Hanson serves as the City Attorney of the City of Buellton. He also serves as the Assistant City Attorney of the City of Industry and City of Placentia and the General Counsel of the Santiago Geologic Hazard Abatement District.
