Appellate | Writ Attorney

Burke, Williams & Sorensen, LLP is seeking a skilled and motivated attorney with significant appellate and writ experience to work from one of our nine locations throughout the State of California.  The successful candidate will have substantial experience handling appeals in both state and federal courts, as well as experience with writs of mandate in the Court of Appeal and the Superior Court.  Experience with legal challenges related to the Public Records Act, Brown Act, CEQA, and land use matters is preferred.  

While appellate specialization certified by the State Bar’s Board of Legal Specialization is preferred, it is not necessary.

Associate Attorney - Municipal Law/Code Enforcement – Los Angeles

Burke is seeking an associate attorney with experience in code enforcement and municipal tort defense work.  Court and/or trial experience preferred.  Must have excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have between 2 and 7 years of experience in public agency law, including at least 2 years of significant code enforcement/and or litigation work, but all qualified candidates will be considered.
