Insurance and Financial Services Litigation Associate – Los Angeles Area

Burke, Williams & Sorensen is a full-service law firm with deep expertise in litigation, including involvement with ERISA, disability, life, health, long-term care, fraud, and employer-plan benefit matters.  We are seeking an associate with 3-5 years of litigation experience to join our expanding team.  The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent writing, research and analytical skills
  • Strong work ethic, self-starter, and team-oriented
  • Admission to the State Bar of California

The associate will be expected to:

  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests/responses, subpoenas, and additional litigation documents
  • Engage with in-house clients, experts, third-party administrators, opposing counsel, and witnesses
  • Review, investigate, and assess factual and legal aspects of claims
  • Take and/or defend depositions
  • Assist in trial and arbitration preparation, including preparing motions in limine, jury instructions, trial briefs, exhibits, and witnesses for testimony
