Bernadette M. Bolan

Bernadette Bolan is senior associate in Burke’s Los Angeles office. She is a civil litigator with experience representing clients in state and federal court in diverse matters including contract, intellectual property, fraud, corporate, real estate, and false advertising disputes. She is also experienced in public entity litigation, and is among the most experienced PACE-financing litigators in the country. Bernadette is also experienced in prelitigation and post-trial advocacy. She has successfully upheld several verdicts on appeal for her clients, totaling over $20 million, and has two published Court of Appeal opinions in her clients’ favor. Bernadette’s practice includes assisting clients with subpoena and Public Records Act compliance, advising clients on legislative developments, and drafting complex agreements.

Bernadette’s pro bono experience includes assisting members in underserved communities with completing deferred action for early childhood arrival (DACA) applications, assisting low income residents at senior living health care facilities with drafting wills and advanced healthcare directives, and obtaining temporary restraining orders for victims of domestic violence.

Bernadette earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology and Archaeology, and a Master’s Degree in Anthropology from The George Washington University. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Southwestern Law School’s two year SCALE program, with a Public Service Distinction. During her time at Southwestern, she participated as both an oralist and brief writer on the Moot Court team and wrote an amicus brief accepted by the Supreme Court of the United States in Ohio v. Clark.
