Mira E. Saleh

Mira Saleh is an associate in Burke’s San Rafael office. Mira focuses her practice on governance, regulatory compliance, and litigation affecting local governments in the Public Law Group. Prior to joining Burke, Mira served as a Deputy City Attorney for the City of Oxnard, where she represented the City in litigation involving gun violence restraining orders and quality-of-life enforcement, and advised city departments on complex legal issues including conflicts of interests, employee free speech, and the regulation of public art. She also drafted city ordinances, prepared staff reports and counseled city commissions on Brown Act compliance.

Previously, Mira worked as a graduate Law Clerk with the Alameda County Counsel’s Office. In that role, she drafted advisory memoranda and appellate briefs on constitutional and statutory issues, and advised on matters involving public records, county ordinances, and child welfare law.

Mira earned her Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco, School of Law, where she served as a Constitutional Law Teaching Assistant, Treasurer for the Black Law Student Association, and Secretary for the American Constitution Society. Mira was also awarded the Daniel J. Curtin, Jr. Scholarship, which is awarded to students  with demonstrated interest in municipal or land use law and academic scholarship.
