Charles Abbott and Lisa Lee Profiled in Los Angeles Business Journal ‘Leaders of Influence: Litigators & Trial Attorneys 2025’

Charles Abbott is a leading defense lawyer for public entities. In 2021, he drafted the briefs and argued Martinez v. City of Beverly Hills, 71 Cal.App.5th 508, which eased the requirements for constructive notice for areas of public property rarely used by pedestrians. Charles is a trusted advocate for public entities facing other issues. In 2023, he secured a defense verdict for the City of Beverly Hills sued after its police officer was involved in an automobile collision. In 2024, a Los Angeles County Superior Court sustained a demurrer that he drafted and argued on behalf of the City of Los Angeles Department of Water and Power in a years-long dispute over electrical power lines to a cannabis business.

Lisa Lee is a 28-year trial attorney who has successfully represented police officers, government entities, businesses and individuals in more than 90 federal and state jury trials throughout California in the areas of constitutional law/ civil rights, torts, contracts and employment. As a deputy District Attorney and assistant prosecutor, Lisa convicted hundreds of criminals who committed the most heinous crimes against the most vulnerable in our society, including sex crimes against children and adults, and homicides. She spent nine years in general civil practice where she served as advisory counsel for businesses, as well as successfully litigating tort, contract and employment litigation matters.
