The Role of Psychologists in Conservatorship Cases
Apr 13, 2021Published in The California Psychologist, Spring 2021
The California Court of Appeal recently published two cases that address the role of psychologists in conservatorship cases: Conservatorship of S.A. and Conservatorship of O.B. The S.A. case involved a psychologist testifying on the appointment of a “general conservator” who takes control of all decisions regarding the individual (the “conservatee”), and the O.B. case involved a psychologist testifying on the appointment of a “limited conĀservator” who takes only limited control of certain decisions regarding the conservatee. In this article, written by Jack P. Lipton, these two cases are considered individually.
