Public Law Litigation Associate – Firmwide

We are seeking an associate with 3-6 years of experience to join our complex public law litigation team.  This group handles sophisticated and high-profile issues related to land use, municipal finance, governance, ethics and transparency, inverse condemnation and other constitutional issues, and local control.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent writing, research and analytical skills
  • Ability to support partners and senior attorneys in all phases of civil litigation, including case assessment, discovery, motion practice, oral argument, mediation, and trial case-management skills, including to ensure timely filings and compliance with procedural rules
  • Writ of mandate and/or appellate experience preferred
  • Thrive in a collegial, fast-paced environment with opportunities for early responsibility and direct client interaction

The pay scale for associates at Burke ranges from $158,000 – $205,000, plus opportunities for annual performance-based bonuses.  The actual salary within that range will depend on the selected candidate’s years of practice and experience.
