Burke, Williams & Sorensen is a full-service law firm with an extensive real estate practice that covers the full range of transactional matters for both emerging and established clients, representing public entities, corporate clients, private developers and property owners, and non-profit entities.  Burke offers a collaborative environment where attorneys work alongside seasoned practitioners to deliver effective and strategic representation.  We are seeking an associate with 6 plus years of relevant experience.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience handling sophisticated commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, purchase and sale agreements (PSAs), leasing, title and financing matters
  • Drafted and negotiated PSAs, commercial leases, statutory development agreements, disposition and development agreements, reimbursement agreements, and other complex real estate transaction documents
  • Experience advising public agencies, private developers, corporate clients, property owners, and nonprofit organizations on a broad range of real estate development and transactional matters, including complicated public-private partnership deals
  • Ability to independently manage multiple transactions while working collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Admission to the State Bar of California

The anticipated base salary range for this full-time role is $190,000 – $225,000 plus annual performance-based bonuses.  The actual salary within that range will depend on the selected candidate’s years of practice and experience.  We encourage all interested candidates to apply.  The firm offers a hybrid work arrangement option, reasonable billable hours requirement, annual discretionary and billable hours bonuses, competitive health insurance benefits, and 401(k) with a partial match.

We promote an environment that encourages mentoring attorneys to advance in the firm and their careers.  Burke supports integrity, diversity, professional growth, and personal fulfillment for everyone working at our firm.
