Darren Pang is a partner in Burke’s Los Angeles office. He has extensive experience advising on and litigating employment and civil rights disputes in state and federal courts throughout California, with a track record of securing favorable outcomes for the employers he serves. His practice centers on defending discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, whistleblower, emotional distress, and wage and hour claims. He also handles administrative matters and pre-litigation strategies. What distinguishes Darren’s approach to resolution is his steadfast efficiency—he identifies the pressure points in each case early on, then builds defenses that resolve matters quickly when possible or position clients for success at trial when settlement isn’t viable.
Darren manages every phase of employment litigation, from initial pleadings through trial. He handles depositions, argues motions, advocates employer positions before agencies such as the DLSE, EEOC, and DFEH, drafts dispositive motions, and negotiates settlements. His motion practice has produced numerous successful summary judgment rulings, including in a federal civil rights action under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 involving negligence and wrongful death claims. Darren has also secured dismissals through well-crafted demurrers in employment and civil rights cases. His ability to eliminate claims before trial saves clients the expense and uncertainty of prolonged litigation.
