Erica W. Griggs

Erica Griggs is an associate in Burke’s San Francisco office and a member of the firm’s Public Law practice group. Erica regularly advises public agencies on legal issues affecting California cities, including land use and planning, the California Environmental Quality Act, public contracting, municipal governance, the Ralph M. Brown Act, the California Public Records Act, the California Coastal Act, elections, ethics, conflicts of interest, and implementation of new legislation affecting local agencies.

Prior to joining Burke, Erica worked as an associate for a boutique law firm in Berkeley, where she advised public agencies, nonprofits, and Tribes on water rights and compliance with the state and federal legal and regulatory frameworks governing clean water, endangered species protection, hazardous waste management, and the public trust. She also assessed legal risks and regulatory pathways for stakeholders of environmental restoration and water infrastructure projects.

Erica received her B.A. in English Literature from UCLA in 2020 and graduated cum laude from UC Law San Francisco (formerly known as UC Hastings) with a concentration in Environmental Law in 2024.
