Laurette S. Hanna

Laurette Hanna is an associate in Burke’s Oakland office where she is a member of Burke’s Public Law practice group. Laurette advises and represents public entity clients on a variety of matters, including the California Public Records Act and the effects recent California Legislative Bills. She additionally advises special districts in relation to the establishment ad amendment of fees and taxes.

Laurette earned her J.D. from the University of California School of Law, San Francisco (Formerly UC Hastings). During law school, Laurette interned for the Land Use Department of the City of San Francisco, and East Bay Community Law Centers Economic Justice Clinic. Laurette additionally served as a post-grad legal fellow with the City of Oakland, assisting both affirmative and defensive litigation teams.

Prior to law school, Laurette graduated the University of Washington with a B.A. in both Political Science and Psychology and a minor in Human Rights. Laurette additionally completed UW’s interdisciplinary honors program, which explored the intersection of different field specialties and how interdisciplinary education can create a more nuanced understanding of issues affecting our communities.
