Victor M. Ponto

Victor Ponto is a partner with Burke, Williams & Sorensen, LLP. He currently serves as the City Attorney for the city of California City.  Victor has served as the Assistant General Counsel for the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District, the Eastern Municipal Water District, Elsinore Municipal Water District, Hi-Desert Water District, and the Central Basin Municipal Water District.  He also served as the City Attorney for the City of Cudahy, Adelanto, Assistant City Attorney for the City of Fontana, and Deputy City Attorney for the cities of El Monte, Cudahy, Huntington Park, and San Fernando.

Victor also provides legal services to cities, school districts, municipal water agencies, and other government entities throughout Southern California.

Victor’s practice involves city attorney and general counsel services.  He frequently advises cities and other local governmental agencies on the Brown Act, the Political Reform Act and the Public Records Act. His practice is to ensure that the governing boards and councils he advises operate legally to effectively serve their communities.

Representing both cities and special districts, Victor provides legal advice at public meetings, community/economic development projects and complex land use transactions. He also advises public clients on matters regarding Planning and Zoning law issues, the Subdivision Map Act and the California Environmental Quality Act.
