Xosthan “April” Abarca

April holds a Juris Doctorate from UC Law San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings), with a Civil Litigation concentration. She earned her B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley in 2018.

During law school, April was a judicial extern for the Honorable Justice Jeremy M. Goldman in the First Appellate District of the California Court of Appeal. April also participated in the Mediation clinic, which provides free mediation services for the Superior Courts of San Francisco and San Mateo Counties. In addition, she interned with the Litigation Team at the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office, gaining experience in civil litigation and public entity defense.

April served as a Senior Staff Editor on the UC Law Journal of Race and Economic Justice and was a member of the Latinx Law Student Association. April earned CALI Awards for Academic Excellence in Trial Advocacy, Advanced Legal Writing, and Judicial Opinion Writing. She also received Honorable Mentions for Best Brief and Oral Argument.

Prior to law school, April worked in the legal field for several years at boutique immigration firms specializing in family-based petitions and deportation defense matters.

Outside of her practice, April enjoys traveling, running, exploring new coffee shops, and spending time with family and friends.

April is fluent in Spanish.
