Burke, Williams & Sorensen and its Employees Raise More Than $40,000 to Support Hurricane Relief Efforts

Sep 28, 2017

Los Angeles, September 28, 2017 – With the recent devastation from this month’s hurricanes in Texas, Florida, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico, Burke attorneys and employees rallied together to raise funds for over 20 different charities including the Houston Food Bank, American Red Cross, Best Friends Animal Society, and Direct Relief. A total amount of $41,126.00 was raised in just two weeks to support those in need.

Traci I. Park, a partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office, took to Facebook to challenge her social network to help her fundraising efforts. Traci said, “Burke really cares about its employees, clients and our communities and encourages us to give back.” She contributed $3 for every ‘like’ her post received and she encouraged her followers to comment on which charity she should allocate the donations to.

“We were overwhelmed by the generous support of everyone who contributed,” said Managing Partner John J. Welsh. “It is truly inspiring to work with so many remarkable people at Burke.”

The charities selected to receive donations were based on recommendations from Burke attorneys and employees.
