In Memoriam
H. James Wulfsberg

Jun 14, 2022

It is with profound sadness that we inform you of the passing of our friend and colleague Jim Wulfsberg on Saturday, May 28 after a brief illness.

Jim was a nationally recognized expert in the field of construction law.  During a fifty-three year career, he represented contractors, architects, engineers and owners in a variety of complex high stakes private and public works throughout the United States, Latin America and the Middle East, as well as serving as litigator and counselor for clients in a myriad of complex business and real estate disputes.  Jim was a Founding Fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers, also having served on its Board of Governors.  He was also a Charter Fellow of the Construction Lawyers Society of America, and also served as a mediator and arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association in a variety of matters.

Those of you who worked with Jim will remember him as a brilliant and tireless advocate for his clients, along with his deep knowledge of construction law and construction industry processes and scheduling issues.  Jim’s work ethic and leadership abilities were unmatched, both as firm leader and when leading litigation and trial teams in a wide variety of complex disputes.

Jim is survived by his wife Janet, daughter Analisa, oldest son, Tyler and his wife Brittany, youngest son Todd and his wife Dianne, his brothers Richard and David Wulfsberg, sister Elaine Hutchinson, and eight grandchildren.

We will miss Jim greatly, but we are grateful to have had the opportunity to have known and worked with him, learned from him, and enjoyed his mentoring, humor, storytelling, insatiable curiosity, fearlessness, generosity and good graces.

Jim’s obituary, and the family’s suggestions for donations in lieu of flowers, can be found here.
