Mary Anne Wagner

Mary Wagner practices public law, with an emphasis on land use, housing, and real estate.  Mary regularly advises public agencies on development projects, including negotiating development agreements and updating general plans, specific plans, and zoning codes.  She represents numerous cities throughout the State on the updates to their Housing Elements.  Prior to joining Burke, Mary served as the City Attorney for the City of Sausalito for 20 years.  Mary is currently the General Counsel to the South San Francisco Housing Authority and Assistant City Attorney for Benicia.

In representing cities, Mary brings her practical approach, legal expertise, and serves as an active member of the team.  In Sausalito, she was part of a Management Academy that trained Sausalito and other Marin County jurisdiction employees the skills needed to move into management.

Mary believes in proactive representation.  She has presented on conflicts of interest and the Brown Act.
