Burke is seeking a 6+ year land use and CEQA attorney with writ litigation experience to join its San Francisco office.

Experience in land use, CEQA, and NEPA is required.  The successful candidate will analyze and comment on administrative draft CEQA and NEPA documents for legal sufficiency; analyze General Plans, zoning ordinances and plot entitlement strategies; help prepare project application documents for private clients; perform legal research concerning land use, CEQA and NEPA topics; draft certain CEQA and NEPA documents; draft General Plan consistency, CEQA and other approval findings; and handle all aspects of land use/CEQA litigation, including administrative record preparation, procedural steps, briefing, and argument. Must have stellar writing skills, attention to detail, strong work ethic, and motivation to serve private developer and public agency clients at the highest level.

The pay scale for associates at Burke ranges from $140,000 – $215,000 plus annual performance-based bonuses.  The actual salary within that range will depend on the selected candidates’ years of practice and experience.

The firm offers a hybrid work arrangement option and an annual telecommute budget to support remote work.  The firm’s billable hour requirement is 1850.  Attorneys receive competitive health insurance benefits, a 401(k) with a partial match, and are eligible for annual discretionary and billable hour bonuses.
